specific details that go into it and how airport security is
related to it. So in this presentation we will be walking you
through the events of 9//11 and how it changed airport
security for the better.

Before 9/11 Airport security was muc h more lenient. Anyone could
be hired by the airport with minimum background checks making
many weapons such as guns, bombs, and harmful liquids would be
missed in the basic routine security c heck before passengers went
onto flights. Small weapons would also be allowed on flights such
as scissors, small knives, and razors. Yo u also would not need to
present passports if you were travelin g out of the country.

Lack of airport security led to terrorist s being able to access the
plane. They then took control of the plane and steered towards the
world trade center. The twin towers then toppled over anything in
its path. Devastation fell upon the pe ople in the twin towers and
everyone around it. When the explo sion occurred first responders
came to the rescue. They risked th eir lives to save others. Since
this major event occurred a cemen t wall was made with engraved
names of the people who lost their liv es.

The ATSA also stated that shoes must be removed when
going through the mandatory security check. The TSA
wanted us to take off our shoes just ensure that nothing is
hidden inside of the soles of the shoes which is why they also
go through the baggage scanner.

In conclusion, airport security change d drastically for men, women,
and children. It has become safer an d more thorough making the
United States better as a whole in th e airport community. Men,
Women, and families can now travel without having to worry too
much about danger from when they first arrive at their local
airport to when they land to enjoy th eir vacation or business trip.
