R. Magsaysay Blvd Sta. Mesa Chapter 1 PROJECT AND ITS BACKGROUND Project Context Technology is an essential part of our daily lives. It provides us convenience, entertainment, and innovations. Just take a look around you and you see people using smartphones, laptops and personal computers on their homes, for various reasons such as doing their homework, watching and streaming movies, playing games and etc. Many people use technology for their own convenience such as online banking, purchasing things online and ordering food at the tips of their fingers. In many parts of the world today, going outside became a challenge due to the on-going pandemic, many countries have issued quarantine orders as a safety protocol in order to contain the virus thus resulting a disruption within the economic chain particularly in food and beverage services, these both affected business entrepreneurs and the consumers. But with the technology constantly evolving we manage to come up with a solution to this dilemma, and we manage to develop an official website for those restaurants, for example Official web-site of Greny Cake Restaurant with this kind of service, it makes the ordering process easier and faster, it is also a cheap way to advertise your market, and since it is a web based system, the admin of the website can give customers a good quality service by sending an email, text or call notifications pertaining to

Official Web-site for Greny Cake restaurant has been developed to override the problems prevailing in the practicing manual system. This system is designed for the particular need of the restaurant to carry out operations in a smooth and effective manner. The system will be reduced as much as possible to avoid errors while entering data. It also provides error message while entering invalid data. No formal knowledge is needed for the user to use this system. Thus, by this all it provides it is user-friendly. Greny Cake Restaurant, as described above, can lead to error free, secure, reliable and fast management system. It can assist the user to concentrate on their other activities rather to concentrate on the record keeping. Thus, it will help the restaurant better utilization of resources. Moreover, the system is that it greatly simplifies the ordering process for both the customer and the restaurant. When the customer visits the ordering webpage, they are presented with an interactive and up-to-date menu, complete with all available options and dynamically adjusting prices based on the selected options. After making a selection, the item is then added to their order, which the customer can review the details of at any time before checking out. This provides instant visual confirmation of what was selected and ensures that items in the order are, in fact, what was intended.

The customer ordering website. Will have several key requirements to function adequately which are accessible across all devices from tablets to PCs, easily research the restaurant’s menu and see what is available, configure their order type such delivery or pick up, choose when they would like to receive the order, pay via mobile T-money or Flooz, stay up to date on the status of the orders they have placed, view all the past orders and quickly re-order their favorites items. This component will handle all of the incoming orders from the customer whom chose to order via the website instead of the traditional landline, this will appear on the website and will be access by customers, but to fully access the features of this section, customers will be ask to login their accounts, this module will contain the functions that will enable for the customer to order their cakes. The Administrator management interface. Is a crucial part of the system. It’s responsible for notifying the restaurant of a new orders and helping them manage the order fulfilment process. The key requirements of this are: accessible across all devices for easy use in-store and the move, real-time order management interface that allows the restaurant to see which orders to prepare, the ability to have staff accounts to restrict access for staff usage, easy to understand settings and configuration options to tune the system, an array of notification methods to keep the restaurant up to date on new orders.

Mesa Specific Objectives By implementing this system, it makes the ordering process much easier because customers don’t need to lineup in queue or using phone call to order, they can do it at home, and fast because employees won’t be put under the pressure since there is no line building up, so that way employees will be able to deploy orders much faster and also will be the best solution for ordering especially for people with busy lifestyle. Secondly, it is free and cheap marketing, once the customers learn about the website and saw for themselves how great the service is, they will share it with their family and friends and it will go on thus promoting the restaurant for free means that it will help the restaurant having a strong online presence without having to pay for expensive media advertising and billboards. Third, customers don’t need to worry about not getting a delivery report because logged in users will be able track their orders and they don’t need to worry about not getting a receipt because it will be delivered into their emails even if their orders have not yet arrived. Fourth, the system will be user-friendly, fun and filled with interactive contents, that way customers whom will be put in queue due to large traffic in the system, will not get bored while waiting for their turn to order. Fifth, help better customers data like the restaurant will know the regular customers, what they like ordering from the restaurant, which kind of their cake is popular, the restaurant will know that if customers are aware of their promotions on the website, they will know if their prefer ordering from the

Finally, a response to lessen the expansion of the pandemic, since this an online web system, customers doesn’t need to go outside and compromise their health and safety just to order cakes on the restaurant, they can do it on their homes. In the current COVID times, every day, thousands of restaurants are venturing into the digital space by launching their own in-house online ordering website or a mobile app. The potential of an online ordering system in a COVID impacted world is not unknown by anyone now. Greny Cake Restaurant owner has realized that investing a small amount of money every month on such technological solutions will not only ensure that they are able to survive the pandemic but also prepares them for future demands. People are going to get habituated of the convenience and safety that this model provides, and thus, would prefer engaging with restaurant brands that provide online ordering and doorstep delivery options. And the restaurant will be able to continue to operate even if they can’t accept dine-in and walk-in orders thus providing jobs and opportunities while implement the health and safety protocols mandated by the WHO. The proponents would like to present the following specific objectives.

Since managers have also access to the records aside from the owners, they’ll be able to track or trace all of the past and current transactions and thus they will be able to attend to the customers complain and dissatisfactory, and since the records are being uploaded online, they will be able to report to the owners with utmost accuracy and reliable records for sales of the restaurant. The Cashier. The system will do the operation regarding locating their customers and calculating the total amount of orders initiated by the customers, the system will automatically ask the customer on exact bill they will use to pay for their orders and exact change, the system will also contain different payment method which includes T-money and Flooz, these options was added in order to implement no touch policy also for the convenience of the customers and the restaurant. The system will also issue 2 separate receipts, one for emails and a print-out receipt. Customers. This system will help them to reduce time and effort in lineup queue over the cashier counter, it will also reduce their time in picking and selecting their orders since the system will provide a list of wide selection of the cakes offered by the restaurant, it will also provide a sense of security regarding their payments and their overall well-being.

This system will help them to practice and honed their skills with programming and conducting research, this also benefit the proponents in the future because this system will be included in their portfolio and will help them get a job or become a freelance programmer and it will help them to get more client. Research Future Researchers. Future researchers will benefit by making this proposed system as their future system reference in conducting similar studies. Scope and Limitation For the scope of the system, the Official Website for Greny Cake Restaurant System includes: Billing, Inventory, Website, online reservations and online orders. This system will adapt with the on-going pandemic and will be able to operate and provide job and opportunities, by creating this website, the employees will be able to work easier and provide faster services and transaction for the customer. It also holds all the records of the restaurant including operational cost, past and future transactions, employee’s salary and overall sales of the restaurant, this way it can produce accurate and reliable reports including print-out receipts, customer payments and inventory of menu and beverages. Moreover, it will simplify and improve the efficiency of the

This section will be disable for some time until the pandemic ends, but this module can be access by the customers whom looking to have a reservation ahead of their time, first will need to login their respective account, then head to online reservations, pick a date, number of seats and time. Online Orders. This module will handle all of the incoming orders from the customer whom chose to order via the website instead of the traditional landline, this will appear on the website and will be access by customers, but to fully access the features of this section, customers will be ask to login their accounts, this module will contain the functions that will enable for the customer to order their cakes. The Administrator server. This module will only be accessible by the owner and the administrator, this contains all of the valuable information regarding the restaurant which includes, Total losses and sales, past and future transactions, employee’s attendance, number of days work, performance, payroll. This also includes inventory which can only be manipulated by the administrator.

The software that has been used for the creation and development of this project and how to access the website. Windows 10. This is the operating system which have been using by most people who owns a computer, this software will enable the proponents of this project to create, develop and maintain the website. Google Chrome. This is the browser which the proponents will be using to test out the website before its release to the owners of the restaurant and also will be used by the customer to access the commercial version of the website.
