Self-Reflection Assignment Your final project in ENGLISH1010 requires that you produce a reflection on how you have grown as a writer this semester. This project can take ONE of three possible forms: a 2-3 page essay, a 7-10 minute slideshow presentation with narration using a medium like Power Point or Google Slides, OR a 7-10 minute video production using a medium like Adobe Spark, your YouTube channel, or Prezi. Regardless of the medium you choose, the following criteria must be met in order to earn a C or better. The assignment will follow the format of an exemplification/illustration essay. Therefore, you will offer an inviting introduction that hooks the audience, narrows down to your thesis, offers your thesis, and offers your plan of development. From here, the body of the assignment will offer real examples from your semester that support your thesis. You can use class notes, information from CONNECT and the e books Write Now and Essentials of Composition, class discussions, excerpts from your essays, teacher comments on your essays, quotes from class discussions, etc. If you add any additional quotes or statistics from outside the coursework, make sure to cite them properly using MLA format. While developing the body of your assignment, make sure to use CLEAR transitions as you shift from one piece of support to the next. Finally, your assignment should conclude by re-stating your thesis in some way, highlighting the major examples you offer in the body of the assignment and leaving the audience with a lasting thought or impression on the topic. The above format should be followed whether you are writing an essay or creating a visual.
