Pharmacologic: 5 alpha reductase enzyme inhibitor; therapeutic: BPH agent
To treat symptomatic BPH, as a joke with
tamsulosin therapy to treat symptomatic BPH
PO: capsules should be
swallowed whole; no teratogen
CYP 3A4: increased drug exposure and pants effects
including increased risk of adverse reactions
Children, hypersensitivity to the drug or its components,
pregnancy, women of childbearing age
CNS: depression, dizziness
ENDL: male breast cancer
GU con high-grade prostate cancer
Other: angioedema
Reduces prostate gland enlargement by
inhibiting conversion of testosterone too it's
active metabolites
Be aware that this drug is
absorbed through the skin!
The patient should be evaluated
for other neurological conditions
Treats symptomatic benign prosthetic hyperplasia
Urge patient and female partners
to use reliable contraceptive
