Ad Analysis
Why use E-cigarettes? E-cigarettes or vapes were made for the purpose of adults
replacing normal cigarettes filled with carcinogens and switching to vapes. Vapes are safer than
cigarettes but were meant for people to get off of something worse. Vapes today have bright
colors, cool designs, and interesting flavors for people (adults) to try. This attracted middle
school, highschool, and college students immensely. What they don’t know is vapes can be just
as addictive and have life-threatening effects. Vapes can cause things like chronic lung disease,
and asthma. Would you risk your perfect health to hit a vape?
According to USA Today news, e-cigarettes have been the most popular thing to use.
With nearly 12 percent of high school students using them, and 3 percent of middle school
students getting their hands on them. These students are open and willing to try something that
can harm their health. Most don’t know the harm that can happen and are either peer pressured,
or influenced by friends and/or family. Example, a girl named Hailey Boyce experienced serious
injuries when her e-cigarette exploded as she was vaping it. Hailey was only 17 years old , when
she was hanging out with her friends on mothers day. She decided to take a hit from her
e-cigarette when it exploded and set her on fire leaving her in a burn center for 3 weeks.
Why vape? Kids these days are led to believe that vaping is less harmful than normal
cigarettes. They want to fit in, reduce their stress, and appear cool in social outings amongst their
friends and family. The ad that I presented however shows a different story. It shows the truth

Kids these days are led to believe that vaping is less harmful than normal cigarettes. They want to fit in, reduce their stress, and appear cool in social outings amongst their friends and family. The ad that I presented however shows a different story. It shows the truth

about e-cigarettes. The ad I have decided to use shows how e-cigarettes are harmful and resets your brain. The Food and Drug administration placed ads in up to 10,000 school bathrooms and websites. The goal of placing these visual ads in bathrooms and websites is so that wherever these kids are they will see the ad, and hopefully then see what e-cigarettes do to you internally, and externally and now you can become a victim to addiction. What is the medical side of vaping you may be wondering? Vaping has been associated with things like popcorn lung and Lipoid Pneumonia. By inhaling chemicals that aren’t well-known, it can go deep into your lungs and cause serious lung diseases. For the kids who vape and are under 25 it can affect your brain and the way you pay attention, learn, your mood can switch and your impulse control is harmed as well. Things like your kidneys, and liver can also be affected too. Heavy metals build up in the blood causing damage in your organs. To conclude, you shouldn’t be vaping at any age. No matter the age it can still cause serious harm and illnesses. Why risk your health to try and fit in? Vaping only decreases your chances to learn normally and have good health at a young age. Staying away from vaping keeps you away from addiction, health problems, and lets you live a normal healthy life. By promoting more ads like the one below we can teach not only children but adults about the harm they can cause to their bodies by smoking. We should place ads in public spots so that everyone of all ages will see how bad smoking really is. Stay safe and protect your health. Teach others about the harms of smoking and why you shouldn't fall to peer pressure.
