Vu Nguyen CS 160 Assignment 1: Figures in Computer Science Bill Gates The person that make our life come closer to the technology of computing is Bill Gates. Bill Gates (William Henry Gates), was born in 1995, is a co-founder of Microsoft Corporation. In 1975, Gates and Paul Allen launched Microsoft, which now became the largest PC software company. His contributions help a lot to people, to computer science such as inspiring the home computer (PC), Introduction of Microsoft Windows (first retail version on November 20, 1985), bring people close to the technology and user-friendly software’s and programs. Also, he has written two books: “The Road Ahead” (1995) and “Business @ the Speed of Thought” (1999). Bill Gates built the world largest software business, Microsoft through technological innovation, keep business strategy and aggressive competitive tactics. Foundation have well over $30 billion to support charitable initiatives in areas of global health and education. Microsoft changed the world completely, like 90% of the computers we use today, use Windows Operating System which is made by Microsoft and computers are actually the driving force of the world today, like almost everything is done by computers. With his foundation, Bill and Melinda Gates have been able to bring some of the greatest scientists together to help create life-changing vaccines. He also wants to encourage people to donate what they can and get involved. He has a quote to celebrate your success but learn your lesson when you fail: “If you are born poor, it’s not your mistake, but if you die poor it’s your mistake”
