Displacement [d] is the shortest distance between the initial and final position of a body. Velocity of a moving body is the rate of change of displacement of the body in a particular direction and its unit is ms -^1. Velocity is a measure of how fast the matter is moving or its rate of change of its position with time.it is given by the relation:
V=velocity D=displacement t=time in seconds magnitude of velocity is called speed which is a scalar quantity.
Rate of change of velocity is called acceleration. its unit is ms -^2. It is a measure of how quickly or slowly velocity is changing. velocity is constant acceleration is zero.
vf = final velocity v 0 = initial velocity t = time interval
Momentum of a moving body is the product of mass and velocity.
m = mass v = velocity the momentum is a vector quantity and its direction same as its velocity. Its unit is kg - ms -^1.
