When loading primary IV tubing into the BD Alaris Pump Module
Basic Infusions cannot be promoted to a Guardrails Suite MX intermittent drug. They can only be promoted to a Guardrails Suite MX continuous infusion.
Once a patient weight is entered and the infusion is started, the patient weight is automatically entered for any additional weight-based calculation. Since it remains an editable field, the patient weight can be adjusted for any module.
There is no Guardrails Suite MX safety software protection in the Drug Calculation feature.
When setting up the Alaris System, ensure the system is as close to the patient's heart level as possible.
When programming a Guardrails IV fluid entry, users can utilize either the Rate and VTBI as an option or the Volume Duration soft key, which will calculate a rate based on VTBI and Duration.
After removing the set from the package, perform the following to prime the line
