An overview of the first ten amendments to the us constitution, collectively known as the bill of rights. These amendments protect various individual rights, including freedom of religion, speech, and press, the right to bear arms, protection against unreasonable searches and seizures, and the rights of the accused. They were added to the constitution three years after it became effective in 1791.
