Conservation Biology

  • (^) Conservation biology is the new multidisplinary

science that has developed to deal with the crisis

that has developed confronting biological diversity.

Conservation biology has two goals : first , to

investigate human impacts on biological diversity

and, second , to develop practical approaches to

prevent the extinction of species. ( Soule, 1985,

1986, Wilson, 1992)

Contd…

  • (^) These disciplines generally have not

addressed the protection of full range of

species found in biological diversities or have

regarded it as a secondary issue.

  • (^) Conservation biology thus complements the

applied disciplines and provides a more

general theoretical approach to the protection

of biological approach.

ConclusionConclusion

  • (^) Thousands of species are going to extinct as a

result of human activities. Conservation

biology is new synthetic discipline to deal with

unprecedented crisis. Conservation biologists

combine basic and applied research

approaches to prevent the extinction of

species, the loss of genetic variation and the

destruction of biological communities.
