Take a look at the following company websites and see if you can identify what type of
departmentalization they are using. Look for 'Corporate Information" or Investor
Relations' sections to help you determine the type and why you selected that type.
1. PepsiCo
PepsiCo is more of a decentralized organizational structure with operational decisions
being made within the separate business units while being governed by policies at the
corporate level.
2. Walt Disney Company
Walt Disney Company says they are more of a cooperative multidivisional
organizational structure that focuses on business type. They say that a multidivisional
organization structure is common with their types of company. DIsney specifically uses
the cooperative multidivisional corporate structure.
3. The United Methodist Church
They do not have a central headquarters of a single executive leader. Duties are divided
among bodies that include the General Conference, the Council of Bishops, and the
Judicial Council.
