In the hospital halls, Death took a stroll,
Wearing her white coat, she searched for a soul.
The nurses were busy, not one paid her mind,
So she chuckled and left, saying, “I’ll be back, ¡never blind!"
In the night’s gentle hush, she whispered a tune,
While shadows danced softly beneath the pale moon.
The charts piled high, the phones rang with cheer,
But Death just smiled, for she had no fear.
With each patient cared for, the nurses stood tall,
Bringing warmth and comfort, they answered the call.
Death tipped her hat, impressed by their grace,
Knowing one day they’d all share the same space.
So on this fine night, as candles are bright,
Remember the laughter that echoes in light.
For though Death may linger, it’s life that we cherish,
In the heart of the healer, no spirit shall perish.
So let’s raise a toast to those who care each day,
In scrubs and with stethoscopes, they lead the way.
Though Death may come calling, they face her with pride,
For in every heartbeat, their love will abide.
