Sublingual - placed under the tounge
injection - injected into the muscle, or under the skin
eye drops - liquid medication dropped directly into the eyes

Topical - Medication that is applied to the skin; creams and ointments
Rectal/Vaginal Suppositories - Medications that are mixed in a base that will melt at
body temp. then molded into shapes for insertion
inhalers - hand held portable devices that deliver medication directly into the lungs,
through the mouth
transdermal - medication absorbed through skin through application of a patch
Peg Tube - Meds in liquid form given thru a tube directly into the stomach. Conduit is
called a gastrostomy or PEG tube.
Oxygen - compressed gas. supplied per order by an O2 company
