Scheinholz 2 Urban Outfitters has an assortment plan that is very diverse compared to their competitors. They carry women’s and men’s apparel, home furnishings, accessories, beauty, and electronics. Within apparel, they have a wide range of colors and sizes from XS-L. The assortment addresses many different styles with both versatile and statement pieces. Urban Outfitters is always a good place to go for a trendy person, as they are always on top of the trends. Many stores look to them for trend ideas. Urban is considered a merchandiser in the ‘Better’ category, and often times only put sale items on a further sale. A few times per year, though, like around the Holidays, they will create bigger sales. They typically have higher pricing than many of their competitors, but I believe this may give them more desirability, as luxury brands work. In all Urban stores, the associates are in charge of the displays. Employees are encouraged to put their own spin on things. This goes hand in hand with the overall philosophy of diversity and differentiation within the
