Become aquainted with the functions on the Draw toolbar below.
Select the tool you want (e.g., Arrow, Line, Rectangle, an AutoShape). Click on the slide where you want to object to begin, and drag your mouse until the desired shape or length is met. Let the mouse go, and edit it using the other toolbar options (e.g., Color, Line Style, Shadow).
The AutoShape button has several pre-defined shapes that you can use. These shapes include Lines, Basic Shapes, Block Arrows, Flowchart, Stars and Banners, and Callouts. Once you select the shape you want, just drag the mouse from beginning to end. Like before, you can then edit the look and appearance using the tools on the Draw Toolbar.

Once the shapes have been created, it is advisable to Group them for easier manipulation such as resizing or moving the graphic around on the slide. With the Selection Tool, click on the outside of the images you want to grasp and drag the mouse until all of the images have been selected. Each image should have handle bars around them. Click on the Draw button, and choose Group. If you ever want to work on the draw objects individually, just Ungroup and Regroup them again.
In this same window, you also have the chance to Change Autoshapes on objects that you had created on the page. Just click on Change Autoshapes and choose the style you want.
Adding borders and shadows to text help accentuate information on your document that you want the reader to take notice.
To add borders and shading, select the text, phrase or word by highlighting it. Once highlighted, click on Format in the menu bar and then on Borders and Shading.
A window will appear. Here, you have several options such as type of borders to use, thickness, location, and color. You can also choose to apply it to the text you selected only or to the paragraph.
