Track and Field – 2015
Objective – Deliver enhanced individualized sport psychology services to the SEC and NCAA scorers. Teaching, developing and empowering them to apply cutting edge sport psychology daily to enhance their ability to perform at their best on command.
Why? – Track and Field team placing is determined by combining individual performances at the SEC and NCAA meets. Only athletes in the top 8 in their event score for the team. On a roster of 120 a good team has roughly 15 – 25 score at the SEC meet. NCAA meets have been won by teams that have as few as 5 athletes score. The fall has been dedicated to enhancing the team culture as well as developing a common base of knowledge related to high performance sport psychology. With SEC and NCAA championships approaching next semester an enhanced focus on the top 10 – 20 % of our team is necessary.
Who? – SEC scorers, NCAA scorers / qualifiers and those deemed by the coaching staff to be at that level.
