Ambiguous/confusing anything that lacks clear
direction. Ex. Paper w/o rubric. New job w/o a
description or training
Simultaneous tasks multiple tasks competing

NCLB (No Child Left Behind) impact this changed educational strategies.
Made kids do more reading, more homewo rk, less free play (which is very
educational), cut out music, recess, social s tudies. Kids became burned out.
School hours age 6 to 8 used to go about 5
hours/day, now its 7 hours/day
Time spent on activities increase in
reading/studying. Decrease in non-academics
(sports, playtime, extra-curriculars)

DEFINITION 5
Sleep deprivation lack of sleep. Need 9 hours a night for cognition.
This stage makes internal clock shift; they a rent ready for bed until
11pm. Drowsy/non-alert
Sleep impact poor academic achievement,
higher depression risk, higher auto accident
risk
Eating disorders link between stress and
eating disorders. Family issues- strict parents.
