  4. Draft your poem in your notebook. Make sure that it is at least 10‐15 lines. My mom is a warm, cozy blanket That I wrap around myself When the world is cold and gray. She envelops me when stress is like a storm, Which sneaks up behind me on the horizon.

At 11:59, when fears of the unknown Tip toe into my room I cover myself with her and hide.

And she protects me.

Growing up doesn’t stop the need For a really cozy blanket. Life still gets cold. And while I am 34 years old, I still rely on my warm, cozy blanket To feel like I’m okay.aa

Little does she know... I will always be comforted in her warmth.

  1. Revise and make sure that... ➢ the metaphor continues throughout multiple stanzas ➢ you include at least one simile ➢ you include at least one example of personification ➢ you appeal to at least 2 senses using imagery ➢ your tone is clear ➢ you wrote at least 10‐15 lines
  2. Write your poem on white printer paper and draw an image that matches the object in your metaphor. Take a picture of it and post it to your Google Assignment. OR Type it in a Google Document and insert image(s) that match(es) the object in your metaphor. OR Record a video of you performing your poem as a spoken word performance. Include the object that you compared to your subject somewhere in the background.
