FINAL EXAMINATION AND RESEARCH ESSAY
PAPLEACOS
ENG 101
You are young, gifted, and politically involved in a major political campaign for a
candidate running for the Presidency of the United States. As a political operative, you
know that polls indicate the environment is a major campaign issue with the voters in
both parties.
For your candidate to win, you have to develop a green or environmental position on
global warming that will effectively resonate with the citizenry. Since you are not a hard
scientist, you need to research this issue and try to understand the extent of human
involvement in global warming. If you hit big on this report, and get good numbers for
your candidate, you have been promised a high position and political power in the new
administration. Your ego does not allow you to back out: you are in.
As you start researching, you notice that on the issue of global warming there are roughly
two sides: those who think that humans, especially in over consuming societies such as
the US, drastically contribute to global warming, and those who contend that global
warming is caused by nature, and people can do nothing about it.
Choose a side, and research the issue, arguing, proving, and persuading that either
humans cause global warming or they do not. You must have at least three reference
articles in this presentation to your political party boss; all MLA format rules apply.
