Introduction to Management

Tomorrow’s managers must be prepared to meet the challenges of a highly dynamic and rapidly changing business environment.

In today’s tough and uncertain economy, a company needs strong managers to lead its staff toward accomplishing business goals. But managers are more than just leaders — they’re problem solvers, cheerleaders, and planners as well. And managers don’t come in one-size-fits-all shapes or forms.

Introduction to Management

What is management? Management may be considered as follows:

  • Field of Study – it deals with management principles, techniques, functions, etc
  • Team or Class of people -Individual who performs managerial activities or may be a group of persons

  • As managers, people carry out the managerial functions of planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling.
  • Management applies to any kind of organization.
  • It applies to managers at all organizational levels.
  • The aim of all managers is the same: to create a surplus.
