Geopolitics of Asia
Ani Grigorgyan
1st stage of Final essay
November 2, 2019
Elmira Gevorgyan
Topic: Trade war impact on China’s IT sector.
Thesis statement: IT sector has been massively targeted by the Trump administration in the
trade war, with more than 1,200 products categorized as “electrical machinery” subjected to
tariffs to date. China’s massive export category is viewed as being the most risk-averse from
tariff hikes as not only will they pay more money, but also they will have less experience in the
dark arts of tariff avoidance used in other industries.
