Owl Bar Run/Walk: all day, starts at Tech Gym. Tech Gym invites runners and walkers to enjoy the fresh air along this 13-mile run/walk from the Tech gymnasium to the Owl Bar and Restaurant in San Antonio. Individuals or groups may begin anytime Friday, with Tech Gym staff members providing return transportation at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Water/Gatorade stations will be provided beginning at the 4-mile marker and can be found each two miles
thereafter. The Owl Bar will provide a complimentary non-alcoholic drink of choice at the completion of the course. T-shirts free for participants, $6.00 for others. Pick up a route map at the New Mexico Tech Gym or call 835- for details.

Software for the Fall Semester
The following new software will be installed or updated for the fall 2007 semester. If you need any additional software to teach your classes, please inform us. Requests for new software that are received by July 20, 2007, will be installed at no charge. Requests received after July 20, 2007, are not guaranteed to be done and will be billed to the requestor.

Over the summer, the TCC will be testing Fedora 7 as a possible upgrade for Fedora Core 5 on the TCC Linux clients for the Fall 2007 semester. If this poses a problem for you, please contact the TCC.
--The Community College presents its annual Fine Arts Spring Show at Macey Center from April 23 through May 4. Come see the beautiful stained glass, lapidary, oil/watercolor paintings, and much more. The opening reception will be on Thursday, April 26 from 5-7 p.m. at Macey Center. Come and enjoy appetizers before "A Night at the Opera." Some pieces will be on sale.
--Faculty on nine-month contracts can receive up to three months of support from private or federal grants or contracts if the funds are available. The first month of summer salary must be paid at the current year contract rate. The remaining two months may be paid at the new contract rate. This year the summer research period begins on May 14, 2007 and ends on August 12, 2007. Requests for
summer salary should be made on the Sponsored Research Salary Support Form now available at http://infohost.nmt.edu/~red/whatsnew.html#SummerSal or in the R&ED office.
