GRAPEVINE COMMUNICATION
Advantages
1. Speed :- It's an informal way of communication that takes place between
colleagues and it spreads the information very fast .
2. Friendly relations :- An informal way of communication in the organisation helps
to solve the problems and clashes between the co- workers , supervisors and the
subordinates.
3. Efficiency :- As the organisation have informal communication the employees can
share their concerns and issues under the informal system. And thus it helps
management or organisation to get precise feedback And solve the problems .
4. Unity :- The grapevine creates a sense of unity among the employees who share
and discuss their views with each other. Thus, it helps in development of an
organisation.
5. The grapevine can be considered as an optiont in those cases where formal
communication does not work.
Disadvantages
1. Rumours :- Mostly the grapevine consists of the information which is partially true
and even sometimes it's not even near the truth so it can be considered as rumours.
Which can spoil a person or company reputation.

Advantages

  1. Speed :- It's an informal way of communication that takes place between colleagues and it spreads the information very fast.

  3. Efficiency :- As the organisation have informal communication the employees can share their concerns and issues under the informal system. And thus it helps management or organisation to get precise feedback And solve the problems.

Disadvantages

  1. Rumours :- Mostly the grapevine consists of the information which is partially true and even sometimes it's not even near the truth so it can be considered as rumours. Which can spoil a person or company reputation.
  1. Waste of time :- Grapevine can mostly contain false accusations on a person or an organisation thus the employees gossipping the information the which is not even true can be considered as the waste of time.
  2. Not trustworthy :- Grapevine can't always be trustworthy as the information does not come from an official path or any true piece of communication and it is spread more by gossip and unconfirmed reports.
  3. Unity:- Sometimes unity can not be considered as good if it's not in control the employees can go on strike against the supervisors. That kind of circumstances is not good for the organisation nor it's reputation.
  4. Good will :- Any of the rumour is not beneficial for the organisation but sometimes if the rumour has been outside the organisation it can affect the people's trust who buy the products or the shareholders who have invested in the organisation.
