The new facility that I will be adding to Knox and Clifford is a day care/preschool. There will be a
general manager who will act as principle and also a cafeteria manager. There will be three teachers to
act as middle management which also means that there will only be three rooms, two for day care and
one for preschool. There will be a nurse, a security guard, a bus driver, an assistant day care manager,
and a secretary. The 2 support workers are going to be an alternate nurse and another school bus driver.
HIRING PLAN
I would start the search for positions internally to see who would be interested in applying and
then I would spread the word and search externally for other candidates. I'm starting internally
because I know that I can trust the people I have already hired and know what their work ethic
is and how they handle situations.
My external search would start locally because I want someone who is familiar with the area
and the people. I would then branch out to regional and lastly statewide if I couldn’t find anyone
else.
I would start looking for people by references from universities and personal contacts. I would
also use local websites similar to heartlandjobs.com to post the jobs.
The positions will be advertised on local job search websites and inside the Recreation center at
Knox and Clifford. I will also ask for referrals from personal contacts and universities.
Since Knox and Clifford Recreation is an equal opportunity employer, our good reputation for
hiring people with diverse backgrounds will precede the search and bring in many different
kinds of people.
I will start accepting applications with a cover letter and resume and narrow down my choices
by who is the most qualified and who is not. I will invite the ones I choose in for a face to face
interview and make my decisions from there.
