Hello, I’m Nate Nesbit and I am a second semester freshman at IWU. I am a Physics Major, and I’m looking for a minor right now, the possibilities are Math, Education or Religion. So I am taking this class as a way to feel out the Education department and see if I enjoy the kinds of things that we do here. I’ve had extensive time working with children of all ages, whether it is at the summer camp where I am the archery director or at the weekend retreats where I volunteered. I am excited to see what this class has to offer and to interacting with the children.
I think that I might want to be a teacher, I am taking this class so that I can decide more definitively where I stand. Regardless, one of the most powerful tools that my two favorite teachers had in high school was real life experience in their fields. That means that my teaching career might take a break for a few years so that I can spend some time in the work place learning what it means to be an engineer.
