Aim: To create a topology using 4 PC’s and a Switch using the IP address mentioned in the question to observe the flow of data from host to host of your choice by creating network traffic. Procedure: ● Select PC from the End Devices option in the bottom left-hand corner. Drag and drop 4 PCs onto the design page. ● Select Switch from the Switch options in the bottom left-hand corner. Add a 2960 switch to your prototype network by dragging it onto your design page. ● Select Connections from the bottom left-hand corner. Choose ‘automatically choose connection type’. Click the first host (PC0) and assign the cable to the FastEthernet0 connector. Click the switch (Switch0) and select a connection FastEthernet0/1 for PC0. ● Repeat step c for PC1, PC2 and PC3. Select FastEthernet0/2 on the Switch0 for PC1, FastEthernet0/3 for PC2 and FastEthernet0/4 for PC3. ● Switch to Simulation Mode in the bottom right-hand corner. ● Click on Add Simple PDU by clicking the closed envelope in the upper toolbar. With the envelope icon, click PC0 to establish the source. Click PC2 to establish the destination. ● Select Play in the Simulation Panel. Observe the path ICMP and ARP envelope.

Aim: Configure the topology diagram and verify the connection between PC0 and PC1. Repeat the procedure for Router2, PC2 and PC3. Procedure: ● Select PC from the End Devices option in the bottom left-hand corner. Drag and drop 2 PCs onto the design page. ● For the first part of the question, select switch from the Switch options in the bottom left-hand corner. Add a 2960 switch to your prototype network by dragging it onto your design page. And Ping the 2 PC’s to verify the connection on the command prompt. ● For the second part of the question, add a router instead of switch from the bottom left and also add 2 PC’s to configure its IP address on the new design page.
