Questions to Prepare for your Meeting
We will discuss some if not all of the questions below in our one-on-one
meeting. You should use this sheet to prepare your responses so you are
able to discuss them in our meeting. Please be prepared to fully discuss your
novel, rather than just reading your responses aloud. This is a graded
discussion, not a speech.
1. Who are the protagonists and antagonists in the story?
2. When does your story take place? What effect does the setting
(specifically date and location) have on the story?
3. What would you say is the climax in the plot? How does it function as a
turning point?
4. Reexamine the title of your novel. What is the depth and relevance of
the title?
5. Does the book contain any controversial material or themes? If so, do
you feel it added or subtracted to the book?
6. What was your favorite passage from the book? Why?
