are multiple benefits that come along with using networks, as oppose to using just a single machine.
One benefit of networking is file sharing. File sharing is how users share their data files. Using a
network also allows for hardware sharing. Hardware sharing is when devices/computers that are
networked together share devices such as hard drjves, printers, scanners, and more. Networking not
only allows file sharing and hardware sharing, but also application sharing, improves communication
between users, many users that are at different places can play games together (network gaming).
Last, I am going to talk about Voice Over IP (Internet Protocol). Void is when telephone calls, which
would be considered voice data, uses standard Internet Protocol as oppose to send by traditional
PSTN. The use of a single machine would mean trying to catch the machine without someone on it,
which in turn costs you time and money. Using single machines could mean an overload on your
system, in turn causing harm to your system eventually.

  1. Is the term client-server out of date, even though the concept is still needed? The client-server concept is a computer networking architecture that still is very much used today. This concept is when a client computer/device makes or sends a request for a service or resource to a server computer, with both ends having a connection on the same network (LAN). So the answer to the question is no, I do not think the term client-server is an out-of-date concept, if this were the case, then the concept would no longer be used, especially not as much as it is still today.
  2. How will your organization utilize a client-server environment? Using a client-server networking architecture makes things such as the sharing of data files and/or information, as well as the sharing of resources much easier for user/client computers. The server end of a client-server architecture also works well as a centralized hub for storage. This type of networking architecture is easier when the user-centered needs to back-up the files and/or resources on the system. A client-server network keeps the connection between the employee and customer, this connection is what makes a client-server network, a network. This type of network has the benefit of due to the server can be set to where it has the control access to the data files.
  3. Will your organization utilize (or standardize on) a single operating system, or will multipleoperating systems be needed? My organization would use a single operating system. Using a single operating system helps with the maintenance required and will maximize the accessibility. A single operating system will allow individual users to have access to all data files or resources, that way miscommunication are less likely to happen because everyone can access each others files.
