Surname Course Instructor Date An Analysis on Organizational Behavior
Once a person becomes unhappy with work, he/she may feel more stressed and pressured. The lack of contentment is then carried over to the non-working hours, especially when the person finds it hard to recover from it. Consequently, life beyond work becomes affected because the dissatisfaction brought forth by the unhappiness at work affects one’s communication with family members and other peers. What do you think the relationship is between job satisfaction and performance? Based on some personal readings about work performance and satisfaction, it can be said that there is a positive correlation between the two. Given that a person is satisfied and happy with a job, he/she has high chances of getting promotion offers, reasonable salary and appropriate working conditions. Hence, a person’s performance is largely and positively affected because of the feeling of importance he/she gets from the company's efforts. Nevertheless, there are other factors that contribute to good job performance, like personality factors such as liveliness, leadership potential and self-esteem. Jennifer Skibba concludes that “the more active and satisfied [employees] were with themselves, the better they performed at work” (45).
