An Analysis on Organizational Behavior
1. How would you describe the linkage between perception and decision-making? Provide an
example.
The weight of the decisions made by a person highly depends on the way he/she
thinks and perceives situations. The way someone senses and understands the things around
him/her creates a big impact on his/her consequent actions. Because not all perceptions are
correct, it is understandable that not all decisions are right. Robert Jervis says, “it is often
impossible to explain crucial decisions and policies without reference to the decision-makers'
beliefs about the world and their images of others” (28). In addition, Jervis also points out
that perceptions are an inseparable part of the cause, and other analysis mechanisms cannot
immediately predict what the outcome will be. For instance, owners having start-up
businesses base their decisions on their perceptions about the future growth of the company.
If they see that the business has a potential for remarkable and satisfactory improvements,
they will push through even if the risks are threatening. Otherwise, they will choose to close
the company and look for another venture to take.
2. How important is satisfaction with one's job?
Studies conducted around the world have shown that people live healthier lives if they
are satisfied with their jobs. Most people spend more than enough time to master their chosen
field. Hence, they also expect to be satisfied with all the aspects of their job after graduating.

Once a person becomes unhappy with work, he/she may feel more stressed and pressured. The lack of contentment is then carried over to the non-working hours, especially when the person finds it hard to recover from it. Consequently, life beyond work becomes affected because the dissatisfaction brought forth by the unhappiness at work affects one’s communication with family members and other peers. What do you think the relationship is between job satisfaction and performance? Based on some personal readings about work performance and satisfaction, it can be said that there is a positive correlation between the two. Given that a person is satisfied and happy with a job, he/she has high chances of getting promotion offers, reasonable salary and appropriate working conditions. Hence, a person’s performance is largely and positively affected because of the feeling of importance he/she gets from the company's efforts. Nevertheless, there are other factors that contribute to good job performance, like personality factors such as liveliness, leadership potential and self-esteem. Jennifer Skibba concludes that “the more active and satisfied [employees] were with themselves, the better they performed at work” (45).

Using your own words describe the linkage between organizational change management and stress management. Changes include modification of business processes, organizational structure or cultural scheme. The internal process of
