Unit 1 : Algebra 2 Lesson # 1 - 3 Powers of Quotients

Learning Goals :

1) How do we simplify expressions using the quotient or zero exponent rules?

2) how do we simplify expressions with negative exponents?

Warm – Up :

Discovering the Positive Powers of Quotients

Positive Powers of Quotient Rule : Use example #1 as a model for completing examples 2-3. Do the same

process. As you are completing the questions, see if you can figure out how to get from the first step to the

last step without having to do the middle steps.

Negative Powers of Quotient Rule : Use example #4 as a model for completing examples 5 - 6. Do the same

process. As you are completing the questions, see if you can figure out how to get from the first step to the

last step without having to do the middle steps.
