“Life Doesn’t Frighten Me”

Directions : Read through the poem. In the blanks next to the poem, you write the

number of the line. Every fifth line is a stanza. Circle the stanza number. Now read through the poem. Once you’ve finished give a thumbs up on your desk.

1 Shadows on the wall __Noises down the hall __Life doesn't frighten me at all __Bad dogs barking loud __Big ghosts in a cloud __Life doesn't frighten me at all

__Mean old Mother Goose __Lions on the loose __They don't frighten me at all __Dragons breathing flame __On my counterpane __That doesn't frighten me at all.

__I go boo __Make them shoo __I make fun __Way they run __I won't cry __So they fly __I just smile __They go wild __Life doesn't frighten me at all.

__Tough guys fight __All alone at night __Life doesn't frighten me at all. __Panthers in the park __Strangers in the dark __No, they don't frighten me at all.

__That new classroom where __Boys all pull my hair __(Kissy little girls __With their hair in curls) __They don't frighten me at all.

__Don't show me frogs and snakes __And listen for my scream, __If I'm afraid at all __It's only in my dreams. __I've got a magic charm __That I keep up my sleeve __I can walk the ocean floor __And never have to breathe.

__Life doesn't frighten me at all __Not at all __Not at all. __Life doesn't frighten me at all.
