  • Gorey is known for pen and ink illustrations that have a Gothic , macabre style
  • Gothic - style characterized by gloom, the grotesque, and the supernatural, popular in the late 18th century
  • Macabre- dark and obsessed with death

Create an illustration with pen:

  • Illustrate a moment in your life that was important to you or that impacted you in some way.
  • This could be something that only effected you or something more social/global.
  • Your final drawing will be created with pen and ink.
  • You can use characters to represent the people in your illustration.
  • You can stretch the truth, exaggerate details
