Eat a piece of cake for dessert instead of a peach
regret it - "I couldve had peach instead" what does this mean
I had the choice between peach or cake
To say I couldve chosen the peach means
if everything was exactly the same, I still couldve chosen the peach
To say the car could have done something different, we mean if the circumstances were different
For a person to have done something different, we mean even if the circumstances were the same
Determinism
the circumstances leading up to my action force me to make the decisions I make
doesnt mean my actions cant be predicted
there are too many variables to make this kind of prediction
if there was no peach, i couldnt regret not choosing a peach bc that option wasnt availabe to me
if i am determined not to pick up the peach, why would i regret that?
responsibilty comes into question
if i was determined to do what i did, why blame me when i do something bad or praise
when good, praise vs blame
