ABSTRACT In this competitive era, the education among the people is so increasing that the jobs for them are now decreasing. The companies even want the people who are best in their fields. At that time, it becomes difficult to find the people who are intelligent enough to be hired. Thinking about these problems, one can think about the process which can handle this process and make the work less complex. This project is about the recruitment process which is done online. The recruitment process here is handled by the system. This project will allow the person to apply for a job in the company for the interested vacancy which would be available at the company. The person will be having the account after registration and will be then called the applied user. If he would be qualified, he would be interacting with the system for the updates. The project is created for fulfilling the requests of the company managers so that the recruitment module can be placed in the company’s website and the users who visit the website can view the vacancies in the company and will be able to apply directly from remote place even. The admin will have all rights of handling this process except the evaluation process as it is the company specific and so the steps of the evaluation process cannot be predicted. It also includes the layers at the admin side so the privileges will have great impact on the functionalities given to the different levels of admin. The privileges will be user specific, so different admin even at same level will have different privileges and so different functionalities. The higher-level admin will handle whole system by himself. Although the lower-level admin is given such privileges that he can send any kind of request to the higher-level admin. The higher- level admin can approve or disapprove the request. Whatever the result of the request approval, the notification will be sent to the lower-level admin. This project plays main role at admin side for recruitment process. The start dates and end dates for applications’ acceptance, the grace period, the job vacancies’ postings, modifying the privileges etc. are the special features of this system.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT The existing project, as a part of the curriculum, was a first-of-its-kind experience for me. I had looked upon this project not merely as a syllabus to be completed but as an aim to know, study, develop and experience the commercial software enhancement and development strategies. I would like to acknowledge and appreciate the support of a few, who served a helping hand physically, mentally, and intellectually in the development of this project. Foremost regards to my guide, I would thank our Prof. Yojana Varade and Principal Dr. Ajay Kumar Pathak who made available the facilities required for the project work such as suitable timings, regular discussion. I am pleased to be able to say that, acceptably, I have achieved my goals and goals to make this project a result. I also wish to mention the unsaid support of my parents who, as always helped me in every possible way to make this work of mine, a success, they helped me with a work full environment. Chapter 1 Introduction This project is developed an online Job Portal for the Placement Dept. of the company. The system is an online application that can be accessed throughout the organization and outside as well with proper login provided. This system can be used as an Online Job Portal for the Placement Dept of the organization to manage the student information with regards to placement. Student’s logging should be able to upload their information in the form of a CV. Visitors / Company representatives logging in may also access/search any information put up by Students. The project has been planned to be having the view of distributed architecture, with centralized storage of the database. The application for the storage of the data has been planned. Using the constructs of MS-SQL Server and all the user interfaces have been designed using the ASP.Net. technologies. The database connectivity is planned using the “SQL Connection” methodology. The standards of security and data protective mechanism have been given a big choice for proper usage. The application takes care of different modules and their associated reports which are produced as per the applicable strategies and standards that are put forwarded by the administrative staff. The entire project has been developed keeping in view of the distributed client server computing technology, in mind. The specification has been normalized up to 3NF to eliminate all the anomalies that may arise due to the database transaction that are executed by the general users and the organizational administration. The user interfaces are browser specific to give distributed accessibility for the overall system.

1.2 Objectives

  • The objective of the application is to develop a system using which job applicants and recruiters can communicate with each other.
  • An Online Job Portal is an application where the job seekers can register themselves at the website and search jobs which are suitable for them where as the employers register with the website and put-up jobs which are vacant at their company.
  • The Online Job Portal System is a package to be used by agencies to improve the efficiency of business.
  • The Online Job Portal System to be developed benefits greatly the members. The System provides jobs catalogue and information to members and helps them decide on the jobs to apply.
  • The admin and employers can keep the jobs catalogue updated all the time so that the Job seekers get the updated information all the time.

1.3 Purpose and Scope 1.3.1 Purpose

  • The purpose of designing the online job portal is to give the job seekers a platform for finding a right and a satisfactory job according to their qualification.
  • It also connects the job seekers with the major agencies.
  • It also provides Jobs portal for Job Seekers to submit their CV and apply for job posting.
  • Employer can select best Employees from Available CV based on their payment option Selection.
  • This is basically a Job portal where job Seeker applies for jobs and employer post jobs and select prospective applicant.
  • Online Job Portal is prepared for provide all categories of job and help to get various type of job.
  • The main purpose of job portal is to provide the facility to job seekers for getting the quick job.
  • So, it enables applicants to search for jobs in a convenient manner and to enable employers to find suitable candidates.

1. 4 Achievements A well-suited job plays a very significant role in every person’s life. But the effect of the outbreak of Coronavirus, on the world economy is devastating. This causes serious consequences like mass unemployment of the youths, raising the price of every commodity, etc. To know more about online Job portals and how much it is important for unemployed persons, please continue the blog. According to CMIE, around 40 percent of the people who lost their job during the Covid-19 pandemic are aged between 15 to 29 years. That means around 27 million people lost their job during this pandemic. The impact of pandemics has been largely seen in tier 2 countries. The rising unemployment rates are necessitating the need for jobs and opportunities. The market does not stay cold forever, now the businesses are lifting up, so are the number of jobs. With the rising jobs, unemployed candidates are making up leeway for assuring opportunities. This gives a significant boost to the user base of the online Job portals. So, if you want to start a unique consultant company, then developing your own Job portal can ensure your success. The task becomes easier when the online job portal development services available in the market. As they are capable enough to develop a responsive and scalable job portal according to the requirements of your company.

3.2 Requirements Specification Information gathering is usually the first phase of the software development project. The purpose of this phase is to identify and document the exact requirements for the system. The user’s request identifies the need for a new information system and on investigation re-defined the new problem to be based on MIS, which supports management. The objective is to determine whether the request is valid and feasible before a recommendation is made to build a new or existing manual system continues. The major steps are –

  • Defining the user requirements.
  • Studying the present system to verify the problem.
  • Defining the performance expected by the candidate to use requirements.

3.3 Software and Hardware Requirements Define the detail of all the software and hardware needed for the development and implementation of Online Job Portal. Hardware Requirement: o PROCESSOR - Intel Pentium 1V-2.0ghz. o HARDWARE – 40 gab (senate). o RAM – 512 mb. o DVD RAM – 1 nos Software Requirement: o OS – Windows XP / vista. o FRONT END TOOL – PHP o BACKEND TOOL – HTM, CSS, JAVASCRIPT

3. 5 Conceptual Models A conceptual model is a framework that is initially used in research to outline the possible courses of action or to present an idea or thought. When a conceptual model is developed in a logical manner, it will provide a rigor to the research process. This paper examines the process of building a conceptual model for business research. Conceptual models, being an intermediate theory, a suitable theory building process can be adopted for its development. The various concepts are then synthesized and the process of conceptual model development is explained systematically with an illustration. This paper guides the researchers to develop a conceptual model with a good level of abstraction that establishes vigor in business research process. Introduction Research and development have acquired a great importance in business during recent days because of the increase in the level of competition and the rapid changes in business processes. Organizational theories propose scientific investigation for effective decision-making and problem solving. Managers of today are required to be equipped with research knowledge to handle the day today situations. Academic researchers also support the businesses with necessary studies that can be applied into practice at various levels in the organizations. However, it is unfortunate that there is a lack of adequate number of qualified researchers both in the organizations and in academics, who can apply scientific methods and produce the desired results in solving problems. The pace of expansion in the next few years may well turn out to be rapid. There is a need to leverage the research talent in India and unlock the potential of various knowledge bases for the socioeconomic development that our country needs. A rigorous conceptual model will enable the researcher to relate the factors of the study, and to collect the right kind of information from an appropriate sample without bias, and facilitate a suitable analysis of gathered data.

Chapter 4 System Design 4.1 Basic Modules The system after careful analysis has been identified to be presented with the following modules:

  • Job Seeker
  • Job Search

  • Job Provider
  • Authentication Admin: In this module Admin will add all the qualifications, skill, experience, city, state, country and update and delete information about the job provider or job seeker he can also search for the job seeker and he can send mail to offer the job to job seeker and he can also see the jobs add by the job provider. Job Seeker: In this module Job Seeker register himself and upload his resume and fill the profile given by admin and after login he will search for the job on various conditions and he can change his profiles and resume and he can apply for the jobs based on various conditions. Job Search: This module having all current vacant jobs, experience and which client offering that vacancy.
