Portfolio Checklist and Coversheet
The Argument/Persuasion Research Paper will be the benchmark used as the Direct
Measure of Learning (DML) for your portfolio.
Please include the following in your portfolio as evidence of learning:
1. This coversheet
2. Artifact –the final draft of your research paper (clean or evaluated: your choice)
3. Proof of Growth – one of your first essays, either the writing sample or
Description Essay (clean or evaluated: your choice)
4. Reflection – a three paragraph document in which you reflect on the research
paper assignment (benchmark).
Describe the assignment given by your instructor
Describe activities you performed to complete the paper (the artifact)
Summarize your growth in knowledge, skills, and abilities as a result of
performing the activities to complete the paper (artifact).
