CHEM 3510 Final Exam Fall 2002
Name: _________________________________
Final Exam
December 12, 2002
The exam consists of a total of 40 questions. The grade will be based on only 34 of these
questions namely the highest graded ones. Each one of the 40 questions has a multiple-choice
answer. Eight questions have also an additional explanatory/calculational part that will be added
to the point value of that question.
The multiple-choice part of the questions is worth 2 points per question for a maximum of 68
points. (Remember that the grade is based on only 34 questions). Each multiple-choice question
has only one correct answer. Partial credit will be given based on a grading rule as follows:
2 points if only the correct answer is marked (circled)
1 point if two answers are marker (circled) that is the correct answer and
an incorrect answer
0.5 points if three answers are marked (circled) that is the correct answer and
two incorrect ones
0 points if the correct answer is not marked (circled) or more than three
answers are marked (circled)
The additional explanatory/calculational part for the five “special” questions will be graded, as a
regular, non-multiple-choice question would be, and partial credit will be given if the work is not
complete.
