(20 pts.)
1. (5 pts.) Read the Critical Thinking on pg. 453 What are the signs that could indicate an eating disorder that Jennifer’s parents should look for? Include 5-6 signs that might apply specifically to Jennifer or you can think of a general person with an eating disorder to complete your list. For full credit, make them signs that parents could observe. Medical indicators don’t work so if a doctor’s help is needed to observe the sign, it doesn’t count towards the parent’s list and points will be taken off. 2. (5 pts.) Rate Your Plate pg. 503 I. (#1) “Fighting World Undernutrition on a Personal Level.” From choice 2, go to 1 of the 7 Internet sites listed, explore it and print 1 page from the site. Make sure the page has an obvious reference to hunger. Be sure to identify the web site. You do not have to write anything; just print out a good representation of the site. For full credit, please note that a) some sites have more obvious hunger references than others so explore a few to find the best one b) students often have difficulties printing out 1 page so plan ahead to do so. You could use the computer commons. Not having a page that is printed out will result in points taken off. 3. (6 pts.) Rate Your Plate pg. 616 II. (#2) “Evaluating a Teen Lunch.” Reflect on your food choices as a high school teenager. Do only Question 3 at the bottom of the page. Use the 3 questions posed in Question 3 to guide your response. You DO NOT have to do 1. and 2. For full credit, I am looking for more than a mention. You will need to really reflect and give me some details. I will count 6 complete sentences for 6 pts. 4. (4 pts.) Fill out the Physical Activity Scorecard. It has been scanned and is an option to print off from D2L. Look for it under Content/In-class Handouts.
I’ll look briefly for completion/total number and not dwell on your actual score.
