hiring managers in the IT industy are faced with today in regards
to the hiring of IT professionals. The ra pid growth of computer
technologies in te past 15 - 20 years has put a sever importance
on the hiring of tech savvy employes == This has forced HR
managers to take a very hard look at IT certifications as a
prerequesite to the hiring of IT profes sionals.

The question of education vs experience in
regards to the hiring of IT professionals

IT professionals work in all facets of the business world which
includes everything in the gamut from military and national
defense to ecology and natural resources. constant change- -
- individuals in the computer industry to maintain and
continue to educate themselves with new information

Certification is often viewed as the practice -
individual demonstrates a minimal level of
competence through completion

Human Resource managers are the evaluators that
determine the job need and the value of an individuals IT
certification in regards to successfully hiring the right skill set
for the job.

I plan to share with you my research about the hiring of IT
professionals over educated professionals, the knowlegle
level of hiring managers, vendor and non vender spefic
certifications and then close wih my sumation.

DEFINITION 5
The perception that HR mangers pla ce on IT certification versus
formal education becomes the first u nknown and unforeseen
hurdle that potential employees mus t overcome. It is a tricky
evaluation that does not satisfactorily allow HR mangers the
luxury of checking boxes that traditio nally create a nice clean
check list of formal academic require ments to predict the best
candidates for the organization
