DEFINITION 1 "We the people of these United States" as many of you know this is the beginning of our nations constitution. Now myquestion to you is how many times have you heard the term "separation of church and state" quoted from the constitutionduring a political debate, on the news or in media? Would it surprise you to know that it is no where in the constitution nor in the bill-of-rights? It actually is not. We must know from where congress is basing laws. I am going to become a constitutional lawyer when I graduate. TERM 2
DEFINITION 2 Lets look at what the first amendment says first. -where most people think it is-"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people to peaceably assemble and to petition the Government for a redress for it's grievances. "-Now I can quote this all day long but if I do not understand what it says then there is no point. TERM 3

DEFINITION 5 In the beginning I asked "how many times have you heard the term "separation of church and state" quoted from the constitution during a political debate, on the news or in media?"The facts are that "separation of church and state" is not in the Contitution nor the bill-of-rights or in any amendments after that.It exists in a personal letter between two peoples.

DEFINITION 6 According to David Barton in the American heritage series most Americans believe that separation of church and state is in the first amendment. Today I am not only going to show you where you can find separation of churcha and state but also what the first amendment says.
