SERIES-PARALLEL RC CIRCUIT
Objective:
The purpose of this lab is to calculate phasor voltages and phasor currents in a series-
parallel RC circuit, and to verify these results using PSpice.
Fig. 1 Series-Parallel RC Circuit.
PROCEDURE:
1. Use the methods discussed in class to calculate the phasor voltage across each element and
the phasor current through each element. Show all of your calculations neatly and
completely. Place your results in Table 1.
2. Use PSpice to obtain a plot of one cycle of the three different voltages, and another plot of
the three different currents. In SETUP, use a Final Time of 2 ms and a No-Print Delay of 1
ms. Use the cursors to obtain information for determining the magnitude and phase of each of
the voltages and each of the currents. Show all of your calculations, and place your results in
Table 2.
3. Turn in printouts of the two plots with the cursors placed to show significant amplitudes, and
with your names printed on each plot.
4. Build a circuit based on the schematic in Fig. 1 using a decade capacitor box for C2.
