TEAM PLAYER
Teamwork drives su ccesful completion of a
project. Most engi neering projects,
particularly in our industry at SL Contr ols,
involve working in teams. Therefore, being a
good team player is an essential component
of being a successful engineer.
OPTIMISTIC
Engineers f ace challen ges. it’s part and
parcel of the job. Those chal lenges could be
a complex p roblem t hat appears to be
completely resistant to a solution, or an
issue with a clie nt that is difficu lt to fix.
Remaining optimisti c in the face of these
challenges helps considerably.
CREATIVITY AND
INNOVATION
Many engineering problems and projects
require a high de gree of creativity and
innovation. The work we are i nvolved in here
at SL Controls is a good example.
PROBLEM SOLVING
You k now h ow th e say ing g oes: if it were easy,
everyone would be doing it. Engineers
regularly encounter problems that must be
overcome and solved. Succ essful engineers
have good problem-solving skill s that help
them in these situations.
INSATIABLE
CURIOSITY
ngineers want to know how thi ngs work. They
also want to make things better, more
efficient, and more effecti ve. They are the
driving fo rce behin d in novations in a vast
range of industries, but everything starts with
that curiosity of figuring out how and wh y.
EMBRACE CHANGE
Nothing stands still in engi neering, so it’s
important to be open to change. Just
because something has b een done a
particular way for years doesn’t mean it can’t
be improved. Successful engineers embrace
new technolog ies, processes, and ways of
thinking.
