The 1946 Constitution of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, also known as the Hòa Bình Constitution, was the first constitution of Vietnam after the August Revolution in 1945. It was adopted on November 14, 1946, by the First National Assembly of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. The constitution consisted of 130 articles and established the principles of a socialist state, with a strong emphasis on nationalism, democracy, and the rights of the people. It also outlined the structure of the government, including the role of the President, the National Assembly, and the Council of Ministers. The 1946 Constitution was replaced by the 1959 Constitution of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
