Sign language is one of the oldest and most natural forms of communication The Hearing impaired individuals have a communication problem dealing with other people .It is hard for such individuals to express what they want to say since sign language is not understandable by everyone .To solve this problem, we have developed a system that can automatically translate sign language into text or speech in real time Our system uses artificial intelligence(AI) and computer vision to recognize hand gestures .The camera captures images of hand signs, and the AI processes these images to identify the meaning of each sign

Processes videos of sign language and converts them into text. 4. Patel S., Sharma R., Gupta D. (2023) Publication: "Sensor-Based Smart Gloves for Sign Language Interpretation" Uses special gloves with sensors to track hand movements. Detects finger positions and converts them into words or sentences.

Proposed System

Dr.

NGP INSTI TUTE OF TECH NOLO GY

The proposed system is a smart application that helps translate sign language into text and speech.

It uses computer vision, AI, and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to

recognize hand gestures and convert them into readable text and spoken words. This system makes communication easier for hearing impaired individuals.

Features of the Proposed System

1. Sign Language Recognition – Uses AI and computer vision to detect and

interpret hand gestures.

2. Natural Language Processing (NLP) – Converts recognized gestures

into structured sentences for better understanding.

3. Text-to-Speech Conversion – The translated text is read aloud using a

speech synthesizer, making it to access easily

4. Customization & Real-Time Interaction – Users can edit the translated

**text or adjust the speech speed and voice.

  1. Database & History Storage – Users can save, retrieve, and review past translations for reference.**

Department AI&DS 9

Proposed System Architecture

  1. Capturing Sign Language The user makes hand gestures in front of the camera. The system records and processes the gestures in real time.
  2. Recognizing the Signs Using Deep Learning This system detects and understands hand movements. The system matches gestures with their correct words
  3. Converting to Text Using NLP it recognizes signs and convert them into text. It ensures the text is accurate and meaningful.
  4. Reading Text as Speech It reads the text out loud using speech synthesizer Users can choose different voices and control the speaking speeds.

5. User-Friendly Interface

The screen shows the translated text.

Users can also adjust the settings and replay the output speech

6. User Login & History

Users can create accounts to save preferences.

The app can store previous translations for future use.
