TERM 1
DEFINITION 1 Individuality is shown through Fran and Scott are in the studio having an argument on whether they should be partners. Scott thinks that Fran would not be good enough to dance with him as he is perfectional and she is the first year.In this shot the director has chosen to use a wide close up shot, with the angle at eye level. This demonstrates the tension and conflict in the relationship between the two individuals.The lighting used in this scene is high key, as it allows the directors to emphasis the emotion in Fran and Scotts face. DEFINITION 2 Fran demonstrates hercourage and individualistic traitsin her dialogue with Scott when she says You think your different butyouare really notyou'rejust scared.The costumes and props worn by both actors in this scene are plain and dull and void of any glitter and sparkles. Frans natural look, which lacks makeup and the wearing of large glasses, highlights herindividualism and her lack of conformity to the stereotypical appearance of ballroom dancers. TERM 3
DEFINITION 3 In this shot, conformity is displayed after the Southern Waratah District Championship was Scott is talking to his current dance partner Liz, where he tells her he intends to go against the norm and dance in his own style. Liz disagrees with Scott and in an attempt to make him conform to traditional ways, declares that I am not dancing with you until you dance like you are supposed to. TERM 4

The spectacular costumes worn by the actors are bright, colourful, sparkly and reflect the pairs transformation to traditional competition ballroom dancers. Frans wearing make-up a, revealing dress and the removal of her glasses are both individualistic and conformist changes to her character.
