CHAPTER 1
Introduction
Teachers vary in their testing preferences. Some prefer to test learning by the student’s
ability to apply the material to a case. Often this is done through assigned papers. Others like
objective formats. Many use a combination of objective tests and papers. Generally test-making
and taking is regarded as another learning opportunity.
A Test bank is a ready-made electronic testing resource that can be customized by
lecturers for their teaching. This test bank attempts to provide a variety of questions in different
formats as students vary (recall, recognition, contrast, critical thinking) in how they can best
demonstrate what they have learned the material. Some of the same content has been asked in
different objective formats; therefore the teacher must be careful in selecting the questions they
use to create a quiz or exam. Teachers must also decide how many points to assign on the
questions they select. Test bank is also a handy system for students because it improves and
increases there potential and mental ability and exercises their critical thinking. Its other purpose
is also to promote multiple methods and multiple theories so that students can improve their
decision making.
