Guidelines for completing a cultural heritage assignment, which involves interviewing an individual from a different culture and writing a narrative account of the experience. The assignment should be in the form of a story, discussing the country the interviewee is from, their dietary habits, dating/marriage, religious customs, costumes/dress, holidays, and any other relevant information. The paper must be in narrative format, 12 point font, arial or new times garamond, and 3-5 pages long. References are required, and the paper must be titled 'culture-j.smith' and attached to the assignment folder for grading.

First you select someone to interview that is of a different culture...Note: I did not say of a different race. In other words you could be African -American, then it would permissible to interview someone that is Haitian. You want to inquire about their dietary habits, dating/marriage, religious customs, costumes /dress, holidays or any other information that you feel is pertinent. In your beginning paragraph discuss the country that your interviewee is from. This information you will gather from the Internet. Cite References. The paper must be in narrative form like you are telling a story, not a question answer format as if you were conducting an interview. Guidelines: The paper is to be narrative format, 12 point -font, Arial or New Times Garamond. Calibri is NOT acceptable Black Ink, 3 -5 pages in length, double spaced. When going between paragraphs on double space you do not double double the spaces. You need at least three (3) references, on a separate reference page, not included in the total of your text. When citing something that the author from the website states then you put that information in quotation marks and note the reference. On the reference page note Reference Page which is APA ,not Works cited, which is MLA., This means that your reference page will be titled "Reference Page" The title for the paper is culture-j.smith. A good way to post correctly is to title your paper this way in your documents. This way when you put it in the Assignment Folder it will have this title. I will have to download them from the assignment folder to my documents for grading. This means you attach it not cut and paste. This should help to make sure that you post it correctly. By providing a correct title will prevent the assignment from getting lost in my documents Grading: Everyone does not have excellent writing skills, do the best that you can. The format is serious, that is spelling, grammar and font. The red squiggly lines means the word is misspelled. The green/blue squiggly lines means incorrect grammar. Do Not start sentences with a conjunction, and, but because, for, and yet. Some conjunctions work, but check your grammar books or the Internet. Citing references is important, there are resources for you on the Course Document and External Links, and the Reference page is in alphabetical order, see the resources. You will be graded on opening paragraph, content of paper, grammar/spelling, a correct reference page. If you do not know how to do a correct reference page consult the External Links and the Internet or other books that you may have.
