Procedures (Prenatal Check Up)
Interview and assessment
Weigh the patient.
Take the vital signs.
Interview and health teaching of the nurse/midwife.
Do Leopold’s Maneuver on the client.
First Maneuver
- to identify fetal lie (relationship of the long axis of the fetus
to the long axis of the mother)
Second Maneuver
- to identify fetal back.
Third Maneuver
- Validating what you felt in the first maneuver.
Assess the fundic height.
Use doppler to hear the fetal heart.
We take the fetal heart rate and its location (LLQ/ RLQ)
LLQ- cephalic presentation.
Assist the client.
Record the assessment.
If a mother has scheduled vaccine, give it to her.
Procedures (Immunization)
Obtain prenatal and newborn booklet.
Retrieving family record in the health center.
Prepare the materials needed.
Cold chain process- one important component in
immunization.
Health Teaching
Ask knowledge of the patient about immunization
About vaccines and its side effects
Swelling: Give cold and warm compress
Fever: Give paracetamol
