ATI TEAS Student Handout
ATI TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills Allied Health)
One of the prerequisites for admission into the professional phase for some of the health science
programs at SouthArk is taking the ATI TEAS. It is recommended to take this test the semester
prior to applying for admission into the desired professional program, following completion of
all basic studies requirements, and after completing all program science course requirements
for an enhanced degree of success on the exam. Some programs have additional individual
requirements.
170, four-option, multiple choice questions on the ATI TEAS
Allow approximately 3 ½ to 4 hours to complete all 4 sections of the ATI TEAS
(1) Reading: 53 Questions 64 Minutes (3) Science: 53 Questions 66 Minutes
(2) Math: 36 Questions 54 Minutes (4) English: 34 Questions 34 Minutes
Fee: $60 to be paid at the Bookstore for first time testing or if retaking by section(s).
Appointment:
Call the Testing Center (870.864.7196)
Stop by Room 220 on the second floor of the Conference Center
Send an email to testing@southark.edu
Score Report: An official score report will be reviewed with and issued to each examinee
immediately following the completion of the exam.

Study Manual:
An ATI TEAS Study Manual: Sixth Edition Revised is available at both the Testing Center and
Library, which are to be used only on campus. This Study Manual can also be purchased in the
Bookstore for an approximate cost of $60. It is recommended to review, practice, and take each
section’s quiz to best determine areas of strengths and weaknesses. (ISBN#: 978-1-56533-575-2)

On Testing Day:

 Must have a valid photo ID and paid Bookstore receipt ($60) to test!  Answer ALL test questions…Unanswered questions are scored as incorrect.  Simple, four-function calculators are allowed.  Pencils and scratch paper will be provided, then collected at the end of the exam.  The exam cannot be stopped once it is started.  ALL personal belongings, such as cell phones, watches, and other electronic devices, will be stored in the lockers provided at the Testing Center.  Single sections of the ATI TEAS can be taken only after the initial exam of ‘ALL sections’ has been completed. However, the testing fee ($60) remains the same.
