Techniques of Neutralization
The Menendez brothers used their appeal of higher loyalties to negate them to commit murders. They wanted a chance at a better life and a end from the things they were put/going through. They felt that if they get rid of what’s stopping them from achieving what they want they’ll obtain a higher control over themselves. For my case the Menendez brothers denied the case at first then later on fessed up to the murders. They also used their trauma as a way out of their situation but the judges still ruled life sentence for them. I believe that they shouldn’t have got life but should’ve got years because with the horrible things they’ve been through they really didn’t have much of a choice at a better life then to commit murder.
WHY?
I find the menendez brothers case interesting because it has so much more to it then what information was given to the general public. I also believe that it was unfair what they were put through during their childhood and believe they should’ve have been sentenced to life in jail. Recently the Menendez brother case has become viral on social medias because of the injustice they were given. Now most teens know about this case from a long time ago but are still trying to fight for the inconsideration of the court/judges.
