Each and everyone one of us have our own beliefs, whether it is a religion, childhood belief such as Santa, societal beliefs or theories. One of the most well known theories out there is the Mandela Effect. To most people, this theory is becoming more of a fact than a theory. If you are unsure of what exactly the Mandela Effect is, then let me explain. This theory is the belief that there are two universes which have small changes that have been made by the government. Another way of explaining the theory is that people are noticing small changes in things overtime. They are mostly changes that some people don’t even notice. The theory became a extremely big deal in 2005 after much of Africa’s population remembered news announcing Nelson Mandela's death in prison. After believing he was dead for years, they learned that Nelson Mandela did not die at that point in time. This is just one of many examples of this theory. I have a extreme belief that this theory is true. There are certain ones that really made me interested in the theory. One example that I always think about is the “Febreze” label. As a child, I remember looking at the bottle and reading “Febreze” with two “e’s” Frebr[ee]ze. Most people I have asked about it state that they remember the bottle saying Frebr[ee]ze also. There are people who oppose my opinion and believe that they have true evidence that it is not true. Mrs. Hunter explained, “ For the people who remember there being two e’s, I think that they only believe that it has two e’s because as a child, you grew up expecting everything to be spelled the correct way.” While her claim does make sense, I remember looking at the bottles over and over because I liked the designs of the bottle. Therefore, I read that label over and over so why would I mistake the spelling if I have seen it so many times? I do not just believe in this theory because of the many examples that made me think twice. I believe in this theory because of the technology we have today. With technology today, we have the
ability to photoshop photos, which leads people to create fake news. If the average citizen can change photos and information, why couldn’t the government take it the extreme? What I mean by this is that I believe they are sort of using photoshop to change the past. There are other resources that we may not know about that could help “cover up” their plans. There is no way there is nothing they are hiding about this theory. I believe that there will come a day that the government will be exposed. At some point, there will be one piece of evidence that no one will deny is wrong. If the government is proven to be changing things we remember, all citizens are going to develop a major trust issue with the government. There is also the possibility that people would be impeached for knowing about this theory and knowing it is true. I whole-heartedly believe that this theory is true for many reasons and from all of the evidence that points to the theory being more of a fact.
